Bert & Kim Ray

Pastor Bert Ray

Pastor Bert Ray was born in Atlanta, GA, and grew up in Northern Virginia. He began his ministry as a student pastor in 2015. In 2020, he received a clear call to evangelize and stepped into full-time evangelistic ministry for the next five years. In September 2025, he became the pastor of AOR Church. Since then, God has been doing extraordinary things, and AOR Church is in a powerful season of revival.

Pastor Ray has a deep heart for people and a passion for helping them build a genuine relationship with Jesus through the teaching of God’s Word and meaningful Bible studies.

First Lady Kim Ray

Kim Ray serves as the First Lady of the church and supports various ministries. She has dedicated her career to the human services field and currently works as a therapist and Immigration Case Manager. Kim’s passion is to serve the Roanoke community by showing the love of Jesus to everyone she meets.

Associate Pastors

Denton & Nadine Levy

From Jamaica to New York to Roanoke, only God could write a story like ours. What began as a simple step of faith has become a beautiful journey of purpose. Bro and Sis Levy have been blessed to serve the Lord together, and in these three years of ministry, we have seen His faithful hand in every step. We are deeply grateful for where He has brought us from and even more excited for where He is taking us.

This is who God is

At AOR Church, there are no stereotypical “church people.” There are no “deplorables.” There are no “worldly people.” There is only humanity — created by a God that loved us so much He came to die for us. We understand that there is no cookie-cutter path towards Jesus; everyone is on their own unique journey containing stories of victory, loss, joy, and sorrow. Filled with radical love and vibrant mercy, we are standing in your corner, here to serve and assist as your journey unfolds.

(Mark 12:31; 1 Cor. 13:13; James 2:13; Luke 6:36)

Our One Thing

Everything we do at AOR Church revolves around one thing — Jesus. And it’s His infinite love for us that inspires us to pray daily, fast regularly, read the Bible consistently, and love others relentlessly. God has done some really cool things in our lives — healing our loved ones, saving us from addictions, bringing joy in the midst of depression, giving us a new hope in life, providing money when we were broke, and the list goes on and on. We can’t wait to see what He has in store for you!

Beyond the Walls

We believe the church isn’t confined by the walls of a sanctuary. “Doing church” isn’t just attending a service; it also means being a light wherever we go. One way we do this is by volunteering and getting involved in our Roanoke communities.
